We were not planning a stay in Mississippi on our vacation but due to our truck breaking down while pulling our camper we stayed a week to get our truck fixed as we had been hauling our camper as well. We called and explained our last minute situation and lake Lacroix were very helpful and accommodating and understanding to our somewhat unknown situation of how long we would be staying etc. the camping areas are nice, concrete padded, full hookup and a small lake for swimming and kayaking. There is also a large pool and pavilion. The two separate shower house are very nice. They have multiple separate full showers, toilets, sinks with vanities. One of the shower houses has a washer and dryer for you to do your laundry free of charge. While there were several fellow campers, we did not have difficulty finding the washer or dryer occupied. We did laundry twice in the week we were there. There is also a little fenced dog park and swings for the kids. You are so close to the downtown Bay Area, as well as Gulfport about 30 minutes away. New Orleans is about 50 minutes away and there is plenty to do with all these places near.

We stayed here a week for the first time in May and we absolutely adored it. We have been traveling the entire gulf coast and have stayed in campgrounds all shapes and sizes. We usually enjoy the state parks and beaches more because of the friendliness and outdoorsy nature but have stayed in at least 50 private campgrounds over the past 13 yrs of camping and this one is tops for us. The owners are friendly, the management (Carrie) is beyond helpful and helped us find the best places to eat and shop.
Let's just talk about the property!! If you have kids and need somewhere to take them to wear them out this summer and make amazing memories? Y'all my kids are ages 2-10 we are from FL and used to theme parks, outdoor activities, and the beach. Still something about the lake and HUGE pool ( which has a beach like entry so littles and bigs can play with ease 鉂わ笍) just had my kids in a strong hold. Noone wanted to come in even when it was getting dark. We slept so good here because the kids were playing/fishing/swimming with other kids and were exhausted. I would recommend this place strongly for families who just want a fun carefree adventure. You won't regret taking your kids here and watching them enjoy their days. Also the wifi is great so if you do have some indoor kids or need to relax with some streaming movies in the afternoon they've got you covered.

We really enjoyed our stay here, despite all the rain, but felt like the website showcased the property in a bit of a different light.

PROs: Very nice and friendly staff, down to earth. The owner is very involved on the property, engaging and loves his campground - that's important!
- Great playground, man-constructed and very unique! I've never seen a seesaw quite that large!
- Excellent large pond with beach entry! There were two large sized durable kayaks with oars for us to use at our leisure. We really appreciated this!
- The water balloon fight for the kiddos was a great activity for the holiday weekend.
- Guests can bring their own personal golf cart which is awesome!
- Decent size pool and pool area with pavilion. The pool was also kept clean and the seating was never an issue - always a seat available.

CONS: The biggest for me was the music. With young kids at the pool, there were a lot of songs with lyrics children shouldn't be exposed to (IMO), lots of cussing and sexual content. The DJ was very pro LSU, which is fine, but if you're an Alabama fan, you might get miffed here. The guests seemed to be leaning in the Tiger direction too, so maybe come prepared for that. :p

The concrete pads looked like they hadn't been edged in maybe 6 months to a year.

Some sites had picnic tables - others did not.

The glamping tent also had what looked like green algae growing at the bottom.

The mosquitos are a serious issue in the back where the woods are - it was the first time at a campground where I felt intimidated to open the door. It was a weekend of heavy "OFF" usage for sure!

No hot tub or bar by the pool if that's important to your stay!

Overall, a good stay, just wasn't as "Wow'd" in person as I was when browsing the website.

Beautiful Escape! This was such a peaceful place to visit. Beautiful lakes, great lots sizes and awesome people. We even were pleasantly surprised by the fireworks on last nights, we concluded was probably for the Memorial Day Holiday. Thank you LaCroix, we will definitely be back and next time we鈥檒l take the recommendations to ride the coast on the motorcycles. 馃槉

We love this area and it's doing a great job of recovering from hurricane. This place appears new and has a great vision. Regular attentive care is definitely needed. The grasses aren't mowed The pool is filthy. The hot tub is a cesspool. The bathrooms don't get cleaned and trash doesn't get emptied. The dog park is tiny. The free laundry is nice. The potential is here but caretakers that pay attention to details are definitely needed.
