Site 14 wide and level. Very near bathhouse. Great stay again. Hickory nuts falling can startle you, but most have fallen.

Camping sites are great. Do not like having to make reservations on line. Prefer to see site before committing. Personnel not very friendly. They give no helpful information when checking in. Probably will not return.

Good campsites with plenty of privacy, but this place is in decline. There doesn't seem to be much maintenance going on. We've been to 8 or 9 Corps of Engineers campgrounds, and typically they're pretty good. But we found it strange (and inconvenient) that there were no common area trash cans. Not at the bath house, or at the playgrounds or pavilions (meanwhile, the adjoining day-use area had plenty). I got the vibe that the hosts simply didn't want to deal with emptying them. So, for example, if you're out walking your dog and you clean up after him, you'll be carrying that bag all the way back to your campsite - or to the dumpsters at the campground entrance. My point is, maintenance and upkeep are at a bare minimum here. Probably won't go back.
