Besides being iced/snowed in for over a week (no water and frozen sewer lines), we finally got out. I guess since we were the only campers in the park (on our side) it had it's perks.

I want to first, commend the outstanding physical condition of the facilities. all of the sites have level concrete pads with full hook ups. For the entire week that I was there, I was the only camper with the exception of the camp host, whom I never saw. this campground is extremely remote, which left me feeling a little unsafe. Every afternoon there was some type of meeting at the restroom building located next to the boat launch. Sometimes as many as two or three vehicles with men and women going in and out of the bathroom and hanging around in the parking lot . Some nights this went on until after 10:00 PM. Random vehicles would drive through the campground loop at all hours of the night. It should be noted that there is no gate which is closed at night for this campground. I found out after I arrived that the lake had been drained to a very low level. The waterline was approximately 200 yards from its normal point. This left a huge mud flat. Which attracts four wheelers, some even after dark. I could have missed it, but these factors should be included in the campground details. I know that I was camping during a slow time of the season, but never would have expected total abandonment. Love to return and see the lake full and have other campers present.

Chickasaw is a very relaxing campground has a nice boat ramp, pavilion, playground, bathrooms, bath houses and all pads are concrete with full hookups and tent location. The only thing I'm concerned about is the speed of the vehicles that goes through day and night. I thank they need to put one or two speed pumps in the park.

Very quiet, saw some more eagles. Stayed at site I had used before and still think it's the best, for me, of all. Will make this my destination, hopefully, several more times in 2024.

Chickasaw Hill is a lovely hidden place. The positives are: it has good shade, paved parking pads that are well spaced out, and a clean shower house. The views of the lake are excellent, and while the playground is smaller than the playground across the lake; it has a swim area that is adjacent to the playground and within walking distance from the campsites.
The negatives are: It is a good 20-30 minute trip to any grocery store or supplies, the road to the campground is very rural and rough, and as such, if you needed medical attention, it would be a long time coming as this is located in a very rural county.

The water at the beach appeared to be very contaminated with some sort of bacteria. It looked very different than what we expected. The park itself was very nice but the water was a deal breaker. It did not seem safe
