What Guests Are Saying
Persimmon Hill offers a lovely camping experience with clean, spacious, and mostly level campsites, many with beautiful lake views and abundant wildlife, including deer. Facilities are well-maintained, and the campground provides excellent value, especially for seniors with the America the Beautiful Pass. While some sites have minor issues, such as grass height and traffic concerns, most visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite destination for many.

The sites were cement pads with plenty of room between camp sites. You were not crowded into camp sites. Every evening we were able to sit and enjoy deer roaming around within 30 to 40 feet. Very enjoyable and relaxing camping experience. We're going back in 2 months.

The rangers and volunteers are trying so hard to do all the maintenance on this park. They deserve funding!!

I have been there several times. It’s always so nice seeing the sites are always clean and in good shape. I am a crappie fishing guide so I like to stay the max. The boat ramp is a part of area and that is also very important. Most of all I would like to say the camp host that helps overseer the park are unbelievably good and helpful.
Can’t wait until my next visit here.
Thanks! Sonny’s guide service 🎣

Our campsites have been nice but not well maintained. The location is amazing. The campground overall is maintained about average. The bathrooms are not well kept or clean.

Beautiful lake and the campground is well-kept and clean. Sites are super spacious and the abundant tall pines provide excellent shade. Quite possibly the nicest CoE park we've ever visited.
