Beautiful campground. Clean and well kept. We stayed at Spot 5 which is closer to the entrance. Hwy 55 is close by and could hear the highway noise a bit more than I am used to. Reason for just three stars would be the amount of late night traffic that flows through the campground. 10pm quite hours that are posted all around obviously we’re not being enforced as the sound of diesel pickups going in and out kept me awake for a while both nights we were there. Will definitely go back, BUT….. will definitely like to stay further in the campground to get a better experience.

Persimmon Hill campground is one of our favorites. There is not a bad campsite there. No matter how many campers are there it always seems so peaceful. Well maintained and just beautiful.

Had a very pleasant visit, if it wasn’t for not being able to get reservations I would be going more

Pulled in on a Saturday and no attendant at any type of check in area. Got to our campsite and backed in very easy. Wife stepped in a large ant colony first thing. Site was not cleaned or blown off like every other corp campground we have been to. Grass was over grown and littered with leaves. Then the gas power washer started up at the campsite right across from us. There was a group of several campers running a mobile detailing service out of the campground. They would foam the car then spray it off. All the chemicals ran right into a culvert that ran right to the lake. Then the car was parked in the campsite right next to us and they vacuumed the car and washed the windows. This happened all the way up to 7:35 at night. At least 6 or 7 cars were done that afternoon. While this was happening the camp host on duty drove by and stopped several times to visit with them. Never saw a ranger drive by that evening. Talking about evening this group carried on very noisily till 12:30 am. Quiet time is 10pm. Next day they left and amazingly we saw rangers driving by a few times that day. The campground is amazing for its beauty and its layout just a shame this was happening. Several other campers expressed their displeasure with what happened to us.

Beautiful view, clean sites. Have enjoyed this park in the past. This year, not as much.
No toilet paper in the men’s restroom. The sewer at our site was very slow to drain and I thought it was not going to go down. Kids were riding their bikes and not looking where they were going and one ran into my truck. Parents not watching and the host was not around. Left a few days early and I could not get the Reservation.gov to cancel any of the remaining of the last several days.

Unfortunately it came a storm and rained and ruined everything. Other than that the park itself was great. I have camped here many time and will come back.
