What Guests Are Saying
Persimmon Hill offers a lovely camping experience with clean, spacious, and mostly level campsites, many with beautiful lake views and abundant wildlife, including deer. Facilities are well-maintained, and the campground provides excellent value, especially for seniors with the America the Beautiful Pass. While some sites have minor issues, such as grass height and traffic concerns, most visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite destination for many.

Words cannot describe the beauty of this Mississippi Corps of Engineers site. You have to come here and experience it for yourself. My only regret is that we didn’t stay here for an entire week!

Enjoyed the camp site and camp ground.
We do have a couple of grievances. The first is dog walkers not picking up their dog poop and letting them poop in others camp sites. The other is constant dog barking. Dogs left outside on leash and barking continuously. These need to be addressed.

Beautiful facility. Spaces are roomy, easy to get into, and most important is clean with excellent maintenance. The park is staffed by Corp of Engineer officers who patrol and offer help to anyone who may need it. There are play areas and boat ramps immediately available at Persimmon Hill. The area is popular and attracts good people. We spend a few days there a couple times each year.

We were in site 28. The traffic was horrible as you are on the main strip. There were cars going over speed bumps all through the night. We have stayed at Persimmon Hill before and loved it. I wouldn’t stay on the main strip.
