What Guests Are Saying
Persimmon Hill offers a lovely camping experience with clean, spacious, and mostly level campsites, many with beautiful lake views and abundant wildlife, including deer. Facilities are well-maintained, and the campground provides excellent value, especially for seniors with the America the Beautiful Pass. While some sites have minor issues, such as grass height and traffic concerns, most visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite destination for many.

One of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed in. We stayed overnight on our way back to Missouri from Gulf Shores. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Camp sites are paved and level with all needed amenities. Has a very nice, lighted walking trail and play ground for children. Quit time is well respected. The reservation online process is not at all user friendly and difficult to determine what sites are available for reservation. Very much enjoyed our stay.

Camping pads are long enough to accommodate long rvs, just wish they were wider. Some have a good view of the lake. Has a walking trail and playground.

Beautiful campground, clean bathrooms ( although the shower curtains need to be replaced )

Persimmon is a wonderful campground.
To make suggestions is to almost nitpick.
The only thing I could think of improving is grass mowing. Sometimes it gets pretty high before its cut.

Beautiful place!
Nice long sites and spotless grounds. Did not use the bathhouse so can’t comment on it.
Easy to find and only 3 miles from the highway. So glad the private parks close to the highway were full! This is a gem that we’ll seek out again.
