Wallace Creek has moved to the top of our list for RV campgrounds. We loved our site which had a great view of the lake. Although there aren't any hiking trails, we enjoyed daily walks through the large campground. We took a day trip to Tupelo, MS (about 90 miles) to see the Vietnam Veterans Replica Wall Memorial. We also traveled south about 55 miles to Clarksdale, MS, to eat at Abe's BBQ which is on the same corner as the "Crossroads" (if you're a music fan you know about the Crossroads). As many have complained about, the bright security lights at the bath houses and other places in the park at night are a little annoying. It would be nice if they were replaced with softer lights which would still provide lighting but not in an obnoxious way. Our site was next to the bathhouse so I made coverings for our windows out of sun shades. We put these in the windows at night and it made a big difference. I would highly recommend this park - good scenery, good distance between sites, level sites, clean and well maintained.

Wow, the lake is way down. Mid-week is so quiet, hardly anybody here, that's great. This site has privacy and not a lot of traffic.

This is a favorite stop. The pull thru sites are very easy to use. I did not realize however that the site I selected this time had the grill, fire pit and table down a slope. My partner is disabled and we could not use these features.
