What Guests Are Saying
Water Valley Landing is a small, quiet campground with beautiful views, full hookups, and a clean, well-maintained environment. Guests appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, friendly hosts, and proximity to the boat ramp and nearby towns for quick trips. However, some reviews noted that the grass was overgrown and could use more regular maintenance, along with limited food options in the area.

all went well, would be much better if there were a fish cleaning station at the campground .

The camp hosts Terri and Vicki were great. Very helpful. Some of the best I’ve encountered. One thing needs attention. There are no handicap parking places at the launch ramp.

We couldn't ask for a better experience or camp host (very friendly). The only thing that could have made us happier was the bath house ( awful smell in there), and the lights go out after about 5 minutes. How do you shower that quick? When they go out you are in total darkness.

We stayed at site 17 at Water Valley Landing. We tent camped. This is primarily an RV campground, but they do allow tents. Some sites have more grass that could accommodate a tent. Ours did not but we were prepared for this. You just have to modify your tent to stake it down with rocks, rope, and carabiners. Only one site had an old tent pad, but it didn’t look usable—maybe leftover from an older design of the grounds. The bathhouse is very clean. It’s made up of 4 pods, each with its own shower and bathroom with a locking door on the outside of the building. The playground is great for kids. The camp hosts were very nice and made sure we were taken care of, especially being in a tent. There is a small hiking trail just down the road from the campground. It isn’t clearly marked and got a bit muddy, but we walked it fine with two kids and two dogs. There was some trash along the trail, which looked like it probably washed up during flooding or when the lake is higher. There was a connecting dirt road that we took back to the main road instead of going back through the wooded trail. You can walk down to the lake front from it. We faced the lake at our site—gorgeous views. The lake was low and the kids could walk down to a clean sandy area from our site within view to play. We used the pavilion on Sunday for a family gathering. It was also clean and well maintained. It was fun to walk the lake bed/shoreline but there’s a good bit of trash and debris along the shoreline. You definitely have to watch out for broken glass and discarded items. I believe the host commented that it was supposed to have been cleaned up but had not been yet. The campground was mostly made up of fishermen, who left out early in the mornings and came back in the evenings, so it was very quite. I can’t speak to how this site would work for an RV, but it worked well for our tent. We were able to fit a 9-person tent, 2-room privacy tent, straight leg tailgate tent, a truck and suv.

This is a small but pretty campground. the reason i am giving it a "good" instead of a higher rating is based on our experience and not the campground as a whole. Park hosts are some of the nicest we have ever experience. But we had terrible weather, including tornado warnings on our second night there. Terrible lightening popping all around us and very strong winds. Also, site 17, where we were, is located close to the boat ramp where the locals like to hang out at night and party. They pretty much stopped when the tornado warnings came. Also a family came in with a tent that night and were very loud all night, including packing up after the tornado to leave. Would give it another try when the weather was better.

We have been coming to this beautiful little campground three yrs now. The sites are large, clean, concrete all with views of the lake. The current hosts have been super friendly and the most welcoming we've had here! They introduced themselves from the start, checked on our stay, any needs and offer of help to gather firewood. This is our place to come everytime we are in this area!
