The campground was well maintained, and the sites were generous. For folks wanting to go into Memphis, it was an easy drive, yet the campground provided the best of country camping. We spent our time with family from the area we hadn't seen in decades, and thoroughly enjoyed the wide open space. The facilities were very clean. We will definitely book a stay there if we are ever in the area again, and highly recommend it to other campers.

We have been before and enjoyed our stay in the past. However, this time there were some issues with the power. We stay away from power issues and were thankful that this was just an overnight stay. Probably won't be back unless we are assured that power issues have been corrected. During our overnight stay three other sites had power issues as well.

Got to see 2 bald eagles in a nest. Great view 👌 . Great place to stay for a few days or more. I'd would have loved to stay there longer than I did.

The only thing about this park is the lake is drained and people like to ride the lake bed after quiet hours

We stayed at Hernando Point for 2 days. It was a very nice campground. The sites are spacious. The restrooms and shower house were clean and maintained. The site was fairly level. Sewer and electrical hookups were easily accessible. No issues with slide clearance. The pad next to the concrete pad was gravel and was very large. We were able to setup a canopy right on the gravel pad and still had plenty of room. The location is close to hiway 55 so if you’re passing through it is a convenient stop. I would recommend staying at Hernando Point if you are in the area.

Very well keep up Campground. Full hookups and a bald eagle nest to boot. We will definitely be coming back.

From I-55, take the Hernando, Mississippi exit and turn west. Continue to to HWY 51 and turn south. Turn west on Wheeler Road and follow signs into campground.
Hernando Point Campground is accessible from I-55 via the Hernando exit, approximately 2 miles away. From I-55, travelers can reach HWY 51, which is also nearby.

General
- Visitors are expected to be aware of park general rules
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reminds all visitors that coast guard approved personal floatation device is required when conducting activities on or in the waters of Arkabutla Lake. These activities include but are not limited to swimming, waterskiing, riding on personal watercraft, kayaking, and other boating related activities. If vessel is under 16 feet in length a PFD is mandatory at all times. If vessel is over 16 feet in length, PFDs are only required while making way under main propulsion.
