I was only here for a single night in a tent, but this would be an awesome pull-through spot for a camper. Tons of room and nice fire pit setup overlooking a steep slope. Bathrooms with flush toilets, sink, and shower just a short walk down the hill and trash on the way to it. Enjoyed a nice starry night in the tent. Quality NPS stay again.

Park is really rundown. I booked site 14 it was so badly slopped I couldn’t level camper. After two days older gentlemen knocked on the trailer and offered to move us because he said that site was turned into a multi tent site. Web site never stated that. I was told website is never updated. Also you can only book even sites online and can’t see availability for the odd sites. Bathroom was clean but water smelled awful. Not sure what I should expect from a forest campground but this wasn’t what I expected. Most sites are too small for any camper over 30 ft. On a positive note camping in a national forest was still pretty cool with deer and turkeys on the main road coming in. Awful lot of trees down from previous bad weather also.

The atmosphere and scenery are absolutely beautiful. The area could use some upgrades but many great trails and attributes that could not be replicated in todays world.

It was quite like we like it. We have stayed there for 30+ years. No sewer hook up so we know we have to use the bath house. They were nasty this trip
