What Guests Are Saying
Clear Springs Campground, located in the Homochitto National Forest, offers flat, level sites with full RV hookups and great lake views, making it a pleasant spot for campers. The campground host, Bobby, provides helpful assistance, and there are nearby trails and day-use areas for recreation. While some campers noted the need for clearer reservation information and general maintenance, many enjoyed their stay and highlighted the fun experiences, especially with family and friends.

Wonderful campsite inside the Homochitto National forest. Flat level sites with full RV hookups. Some sites are first come first serve, some can be reserved ahead of time. Great view of the lake. Camp site host Bobby is great, and available if you need help or have questions. Couple trails close by and day use areas/pavilions available too!

We enjoyed our time there. We stayed in number 13, and our twelve man tent barely fit in the tent area, but if you dint mind going down a steep hill, there is a flat area just below the site. Some of our group put up several tents there as well. We do wish the website was clearer on which spaces are available to use first come, first serve and which are reserved. I believe if you go to recreation.gov, and use the list feature vs the grid, it’s easier to see. I believe you can use the even number (reservation) sites if there is no actual sign saying reserved, if you get there and it’s that way. We were confused and were told it needs to be clearer in the website, and we agree. But reserving is pretty helpful I’m sure. Sites 20 and 22 are both pretty nice for space, and privacy. 20 has a lake view too.

Amazing campground. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and it never disappoints. We had a blast this weekend. If you come, bring bikes!

The campground is in desperate need of some TLC but we still had a great time. I have read through so many reviews and looked at so many pics & not 1 single picture or mention of the creek even from people who claim they use to come here as kids. Does no one know the creeks existed except me and my family. I preferred the creek over the lake even when I was a child in the 80s. Anyhow it’s a bit of a climb down and then back up but man it’s worth it. I brought my kids and husband yesterday & they had a great time. We do know next time we definitely need a rope ladder or something so the climb down and back up from the creek.

Clear springs was a big part of my childhood with so many good memories here. Things have changed a lot since those days but going there after so many years was still like seeing an old friend. The nostalgia and positive energy are still there. It is still a beautiful place and very peaceful. I will be spending a bit more time visiting this dear old family friend.
