What Guests Are Saying
Clear Creek (MS) offers a scenic and tranquil camping experience with opportunities for fishing, hiking, and outdoor activities. While some facilities were noted as being in disrepair and minimal staffing was a concern, many guests appreciated the clean showers, friendly fellow campers, and the park's ongoing improvements. The campground's natural beauty and secluded atmosphere make it a potential choice for those seeking a quieter, more primitive camping experience.

Clear Creek Campground could be very nice. We were there Oct. 14-16, 2020. The grass was knee high and the front sites were all closed and 3 of 4 bath houses were closed. Several loops seemed to be closed permanently. There were no on-site camp hosts and the front gate seemed to be have no been used in several years. We are from Tennessee and it is hard to find camping these days as everything is booked, there were only 3 campers in this campground. With a little work this campground could be amazing. Hope this changes over the next few years!

The campsites were clean, well-forested, and offered some privacy. The restrooms and (glorious hot-water!) showers seemed to be well-maintained (though they were inhabited by hundreds of millipedes crawling along the floor, which were not as welcoming--this is camping though, critters are present!). The sites are a short drive from Sardis Lake, which seemed beautiful. The sites are not a walking distance from the lake, unfortunately, which was unexpected and inconvenient. The town of Oxford is about a 20-minute drive from the camp, which made for a wonderful cool retreat after experiencing the early summer heat in town.

Very difficult to access and leave from due to multiple detours at least during my stay July 2020. DO NOT GO DOWN County Road 1087. That road was washed out and knee-deep in mud, overgrown tree branches. Ripped off my awning attachment and had to 4 wheel drive my trailer out ...damn near got stuck. Mud ripped off my Black tank handle. Etc etc. This road was recommended on 2 GPS apps for the detour....nightmare road. The actual campsite had Greenhouse Millipedes in the hundreds ( no exaggeration) in the bathroom. Campground needs some renovating as well. Showers were hot but the millipedes were a big negative when they were in such high numbers. Campground was quiet.... nice wooded area, sites were easy access , picnic tables etc. Lots of ticks but that isn't the camground's fault. I personally would not go back nor recommend to anyone but that's just my opinion and experience.
