What Guests Are Saying

Clear Creek (MS) offers a scenic and tranquil camping experience with opportunities for fishing, hiking, and outdoor activities. While some facilities were noted as being in disrepair and minimal staffing was a concern, many guests appreciated the clean showers, friendly fellow campers, and the park's ongoing improvements. The campground's natural beauty and secluded atmosphere make it a potential choice for those seeking a quieter, more primitive camping experience.

We arrived at the campsite and it was so unkept we decided to not stay. The ground was covered in inches of leaves which could have easily held snakes. There are portions of this campground that are closed. It just hasn’t been kept up.

We camp in COE campgrounds whenever possible because they're usually well kept, we enjoy our stays, and feel they're safe campgrounds. We were very disappointed with Clear Creek campground. A good part of the campground was closed, and the part that was open was very neglected looking. When we arrived at what is usually the check in station, it was a run down, neglected building, and no one there. There was no campground host. During our 7 night stay we never saw any corps employees. We were not checked in by anyone. As we approached the open part of the campground, the first camper we saw appeared to be abandoned. There were only 3 other camping units beside ourselves. The whole set up didn't make us feel safe or comfortable. When we're camping, we like to drive our tow vehicle and visit the area around us. Because there was no one "in charge", we were concerned about how safe it was to leave our camping unit to explore the area. We won't recommend anyone Clear Creek Campground to anyone. If the COE for, whatever reason, can't keep up this camping area, they need to totally shut it down, and not leave a neglected, run down area for campers who expect COE campgrounds to be safe, well kept areas.

I have stayed here in the past and I see the park conditions deteriorating. There are very few campsites that are open. I didn't see any handicap sites open. The fish cleaning site at the landing had no water on and the women's restroom wasn't operational. There are homeless people camping here and some don't clean around their sites. People come in all times of the night and camp and leave early and are obviously not paying to stay. More rangers are needed to oversee this area.

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
