Overall, the campgrounds were very nice. With limited personnel resources during the "Pandemic" cleanliness of the sites seems to have suffered. We did a quick cleanup and it was a great place to camp.
Shade was plentiful. Sites were very roomy.

Though the area is beautiful, the campground was awful. The spots are so close together that you have absolutely no privacy. Our spot was so close to our neighbors, they were talking right outside our window when we were trying to go to sleep. We go camping for some isolation, but due to my health problems, I have to have electricity. We have yet to find a satisfactory place. You don't have to pack them in.

Everything was overall pretty good. Camp sites were well maintained and contained all the amenities promised. We stayed in a non-electric tent site. The proximity to the river is fantastic! Small playground for the kids but you don't need it when you can play in the river all day. Jeff's Canoe rental immediately next door to the campground make getting any necessary supplies easy and is a great option for floating on the Black River. Booking was easy and rate is very reasonable. Bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner, but were overall fine. Could have done w/o the confederate flags of the other campers, but i can't blame the campground for that... just a heads up for those not familiar w/ southern MO and what to expect.
