About Cobb Ridge

Cobb Ridge Campground is adjacent to the Chadwick Riding area, which is popular among and off-road vehicles (dirt bikes; ATVs and side by sides 50 inches or less) enthusiasts. Numerous trails provide nearly 80 mi of interconnecting loops that vary from easy to difficult terrain, winding in and out of deep, forested hollows and down long ridge tops. Family and group camping is available, providing access to Missouri's beautiful Mark Twain National Forest.

I have camped here over the years many times and ride this area of beautiful country weekly. This time I came back from riding to find the windshield of my truck broken and shattered. This is concerning considering I have never had any property damage while camping and always considered this a safe campground. The camp host was very supportive and did a great job assisting me. The campground is clean and sites are well spaced, no complaints, a beautiful area. Enjoy this unspoiled area and please be respectful of others.

We loved Cobb Ridge Campground! Since it is in a national forest, it is beautiful and woodsy. The sites are spread far apart. The roads and campsites are lined with nice split rail fencing. The sites are paved and level, and the fire pits are raised and very clean. There are lots of ATV trails which are good for hiking too, if you’re there when there aren’t a lot of ATVs. We were there when it was very quiet and empty, in August. We took our bikes on the trails but found out some of them are not suitable for bicycles. The only drawback is that the campground is so remote. It’s a very narrow, curvy road and a 45 minute drive from Branson. We made it fine, though, with and without our fifth wheel.

The campground was great.The connecting Chadwick trails were a little to intense for us though. The greeting hosts were polite and very helpful. Clean grounds and restroom/showers. All campers were pleasant and took the initiative to stop others from creating chaos. Overall I would stay at the campground but not enjoy the trails.

Cobb Ridge is accessible via US Highway 60, located approximately 20 miles to the south. The campground is also near Missouri State Highway 125 to the east.

Policies & Rules

General

  • Campers required to check-in with on-site host, if available, upon arrival.
  • Don't move firewood: To limit the spread of invasive tree-killing pests, firewood from outside the area is not permitted. Some states have quarantines and may confiscate your firewood. Please help protect our forests from invasive species by obtaining your firewood at or near your camping destination and burning it on-site. Visit dontmovefirewood.org for more information.

  • Helmets are required at all times for off-road vehicle riders under 18 years of age and anyone under the age of 16 must be under direct supervision of a parent or guardian when riding ATV, motorcycle, and side by side.
  • ATVs and side by sides must be 50 inches or less to ride on trails.
  • Working muffler and Spark Arrester required on all ATVs/side by sides.
  • No operator is allowed to carry passengers on an ATV or motorcycle unless designed by manufacturer to carry passengers.
