April 2024. We enjoyed four beautiful days of spring weather from the 50’s - 70’s at Old Highway 86 Campground on Table Rock Lake near Blue Eye, Missouri. This is a very popular campground and was full even during the week. Site 68 was a pull through site with our living area facing the lake and easy access to the shore for fishing or bird watching. The birds were very numerous and almost unafraid of the people. All sites are paved and mostly level with electric and water, no sewer. Good AT&T cell phone service as well as clear access for Starlink internet. The bathhouses were very clean and spacious with multiple stalls and showers. Check-in is at the toll booth, but it is only manned by volunteers Thursday through Sunday 2pm – 5pm. The honor system seems to be working, and since it is a CEO park the rangers drive through quite frequently to keep everyone honest. The nearest trails are across the lake at Table Rock Lake State Park, about a 20-minute drive. The Dewey Short Visitors Center, the Showboat Branson Bell, and the Dam are also near the State Park and worth a visit. We wanted to visit the Shepherd of the Hills Conservation Center and Fish Hatchery near the dam, but it is closed to visitors while a new Conservation Center is being built. The new center is scheduled to open in 2025. Branson is very close and though we didn’t plan on going there we got turned around and ended up driving through. It’s off season so it was not very crowded, so we stopped for lunch.
If you are approaching this campground from the east on highway 86, coming from highway 65, be aware that there is quite a bit of road construction and two roundabouts that we found a little confusing because we don’t have those where we come from.
We highly recommend this park and will be returning.

Well kept grounds, very clean bathrooms, courteous hostess. For first timers, entering the camping area was a little confusing. I along with others of our group angled left instead of right. Not a huge deal, however, a more prominent sign indicating bearing to the right would be helpful. Otherwise, fantastic park.

Park attendants are partime now and volunteers at that. Who do you contact with issues that surely arise?? I see this park not being as nice in the coming future but we shall see.

beautiful, clean campground, with amazing views of the water. Other than being a little difficult to find, it was a good stay.

Large sites, lots of grass, well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great views of the lake at most sites. Restrooms were clean but could use an upgrade. Mirrors were old polished aluminum shower heads scattered water everywhere.

Fabulous campground in a fabulous location. The infrastructure is great. We were in site 62 with water and 50 amp electrical. Sites were spacious with asphalt parking space with a concrete dining pad and table. Our one complaint is that there was no recycling at the site. I was at the park as a child about 60 years ago and then again about 50 years ago, and as a young married 35 or so years ago. Improvements have been great and it continues to be a favorite. We'll be back many more times.
