The hosts here were very nice. We were trying to make our way home to Florida when hurricane Ian was on the way. They were very concerned for our home which was very sweet of them.

There's Almost no camp site (2) with shade for a tent and what their is, is very hard spot to get.
There's no place to go swimming! We have walk on very sharp rocks in the water over 150 feet to even get to water waist high. Plus, the beach area has permanently been shuttered as have several camp sites in this facility.
I asked the custodian why there is No Walking Trail from that back turn of B track to the trash & showers area. He told me because you & the Park Rangers have not do so, as he is forbidden to cut a leaf from a tree.
It gets much worse from here.

Love Sparrowsfoot!!! The park is so well kept. Asa female it is so nice to go into a bathroom that is almost as clean as mine is at home even though it is shared with many others. The park also is well kept. We love the couple that run it as they are so friendly and look forward to seeing us on our trips.

Our site, while long enough for our MH, was quite difficult to maneuver into because of the space/clearance of the driveway and trees, posts with the site numbers on them, and drive itself had quite a drop on one side. The facilities itself were nice, the people were nice, we loved the location of the park.

I’m impressed with the improvements at the campground. We had a great weekend. We have been camping at sparrowfoot for the last 10 years. 50 amp service and water hookups are great.

Very quiet park even when they were at capacity for a holiday weekend. Spots are well spaced and pretty level.

The stay was OK until we left our campsite. We turned to get to the garbage dumps and proceeded away from the entrance. After discarding our garbage, we kept going and came to the end of blacktop. Not knowing what to do we drove down the now gravel road since we had a car in tow and it would have been hard to make a u turn. The gravel road was overgrown and a dead tree was leaning over the road causing scratches on our motorhome. I knew we were in real trouble but had no option but to remove as many branches as possible and keep going hoping to get to the exit. Instead, the road made a loop and brought us back to the beginning of the gravel road. When we got to the entrance, we talked to the volunteers about our experience on the gravel road. They said it was an abandoned road that was only used be fishermen and tenters. I asked to talk to a Ranger to tell them about the problem. They contacted the Ranger by phone and I explained our experience to her. All I asked for was a sign saying “No RVs past this point” at the gravel road. She said she would pass the message to the Supervisor, but that nothing would probably be done. What kind of answer is that? I only wanted to inform other RVers of the problem. The problem could also have been avoided if I would have had a map of the campground showing how to exit. I have to take some responsibility for continuing down a gravel road, but a sign would have stopped me. After staying at many Corp. campgrounds, I have never had a bad experience like this one and hope this can be rectified.

The park was shady and the breeze off the lake at site 19A helped to keep the site cool, but with the +95 temperature it was nice to have 50 amp electric to run both air conditioners.
