James River Hideout / Horsecreek Ranch & Retreat

This new outfitter in the James is so nice! I took my 8 and 10 year old on the 2 mile and 6 mile float. We also camped. It is clean. Professional. FAMILY FRIENDLY. Float the James is top notch and we’ll be back and in our favorite camping spot! ❤️

We had an absolute blast this weekend!! There was about 20 of us doing our annual family reunion camp/float trip. The employees were super nice and very accommodating! The campsites were right across from the water so it was great for the kids and we had plenty of trees and shade. The bathrooms and showers were always clean and kept very nice. We will deffinately be back... it's our new favorite camp spot!

We stayed over Memorial Day weekend. One of the best experiences at a campground we have ever had. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. They made sure each guest had everything they needed and checked in. We ended up changing to a cabin and hands down the best cabin we have stayed at by the river. Clean, comfortable, fully stocked with kitchen and bath essentials plus direct river access!! They even had a smoker, blackstone and grill to use under a nice pavilion with table and chairs and a fire pit, they truly thought of everything. We came as guests but left feeling like we stayed with friends. 10/10 recommend for your close to home family get away!

OMG I was so impressed with how spacious the campsite were and the Bathrooms are the cleanest are family stayed for Father's Day weekend and had a blast and also booked for the 4th of july we have found are new go to when we want to have fun with no rules and regulations to an extent

We had a great time on our 2 mile float and will definitely be back. The people who work here are super friendly...highly recommend.
