GeneralNotice to Campers - Greenville Campground October 2026:During the last 3 Saturdays of October, the Greenville Campground will host the Jack O’ Lantern Jubilee Special Event. The event will take place Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. During this time, the gates to the campground will be closed and no vehicle traffic will be allowed through due to pedestrian traffic. Participants will enjoy trick-or-treating through the campground. Campers are encouraged to participate in site decoration, but participation is completely voluntary. This is a family friendly event. Passing out alcoholic beverages or other adult drinks will not be allowed. This will be a highly trafficked time for the campground, so if you believe that this will affect your stay at the Greenville Campground, please make appropriate schedule changes or accommodations. Thank you for visiting the Wappapello Lake project.

We really enjoy the well maintained park. It is quiet with easy walking trails and scenic river views. Having full hook ups in a park makes it so much easier for the whole camping experience.

Great Park Host to boot. Ride your bike to get an ice cream on a hot summer day. Oh Plenty of wildlife to see & photograph
if that's your hobby. We will be retuning, putting on the top of our list as #1 stop.

The sewer hook up is too high at site 103 . It makes emptying the grey and black water tanks very difficult

The trof tash dumpsters were moved by the dumping station which causes a big inconvenience it is a long way to carry trash, especially when a lot of people are senior citizens, the majority of the campers would appreciate the trash dumpsters placed back inside the park. We were told someone complained on the trash truck drivers, but I have never seen the drivers not driving safely, people need to be courtious of the trash truck drivers when they are dumping the dumpsters, they can't always see you and the campers need to make their children aware his.

The physical address of the park is located a mile south of Greenville, MO.
From St. Louis, take I-55 south to Highway 67 south to
Greenville. From here, continue south about 1 mile and look
for signs.
From Poplar Bluff take Highway 67 north about 29
miles and look for signs.
If utilizing Apple or Google Maps, key in "Greenville Recreation Area". Select the location that is located in Greenville, MO. This will take you directly to the entrance of the campground to check in.
Greenville Recreation Area is accessible from I-55 via Highway 67, which is approximately 1 mile away from the campground.
Elevation: 115 feet
2.9 mi drive to downtown Greenville (about 5 min)
Policies & Rules
General
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- Existing day use shelter reservations may be cancelled by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers if the facility is closed due to flooding, elevated security threats, maintenance problems, etc. Reservations may also be cancelled when the reservation conflicts with large public special events that would negatively impact a private event at the shelter. For these reasons, customers should consider an alternate date or location in the event a closure is necessary. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
- This campground was completely renovated in 2019. Every site has been upgraded to full hook-up campsites, 50 amp electric, water and sewer. Each impact site was upgraded to concrete 16'X40' pads and include and accessible firering/grill, picnic table, and lantern post.
- All campers MUST register with gate attendant upon arrival to receive site and vehicle tags.

- Attention All Recreation Users: If you would like to hold an event or wedding at any of the project’s day use shelters, boat ramps, or any recreation area please call or visit the USACE Wappapello Lake project office to obtain the special use or event permit REQUIRED.These permits are required if you are hosting: a large gathering greater than 50 people, fishing tournaments, 5k’s, weddings, use of a bounce house/water slide of any kind, ETC. Please note that if events are held that require, but do not possess a special use or special event permit may be subject to a WRITTEN CITATION. Per Title 36 CFR 327.21(a) If you are planning on hosting an event and it does not fall under these specific criteria, please contacting with the USACE Wappapello Lake Project Office at 1(573) 222-7500 or messaging us on our Facebook page.
