GeneralNotice to Campers - Greenville Campground October 2026:During the last 3 Saturdays of October, the Greenville Campground will host the Jack O’ Lantern Jubilee Special Event. The event will take place Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. During this time, the gates to the campground will be closed and no vehicle traffic will be allowed through due to pedestrian traffic. Participants will enjoy trick-or-treating through the campground. Campers are encouraged to participate in site decoration, but participation is completely voluntary. This is a family friendly event. Passing out alcoholic beverages or other adult drinks will not be allowed. This will be a highly trafficked time for the campground, so if you believe that this will affect your stay at the Greenville Campground, please make appropriate schedule changes or accommodations. The campsites are spacious and well kept. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and keep the campground and facilities clean. The bike trails are well kept and very enjoyable.

Easy in and out of the campground. Great place to bike. Nice level spots with FUP. We got visited by raccoons and skunks, so make sure to pick up trash...

We absolutely loved our stay at the Greenville Recreation Area Campground! We brought our bicycles and were blown away by all the paved trails and beautiful scenery. For casual bike riders, this place is paradise! The campground itself was fantastic — the site pads were large, spacious, and paved, which made everything so convenient.
One of the coolest parts was learning about the history of Old Greenville. It was amazing to see the old street signs, stone steps, landmarks, and even a cemetery preserved right within the campground. It really gives the area a unique charm and character you don’t find everywhere.
Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer! We highly recommend this campground and can’t wait to come back again.

We enjoy being able to walk the old town and see what was there in the past. The fishing access at the far east point is pretty good.
Some of the signs are weathered to the point that they are unreadable. One of our favorites, very well kept campground

No complaints! Campsites are clean and well maintained with full hookups. Campground equipped with nice bike trails, basketball court, pickleball court, and sand volleyball, and two playgrounds for the little ones. Clean bathrooms and shower house. Lots of history here.

Camped in number 67, great area to camp. Easy bike trails (electric) site is well shaded. Large site. Quiet and peaceful in evening. Even with the all the children. You would never realize the number of kids by the noise. Everyone is respectful. Just an overall great experience

The physical address of the park is located a mile south of Greenville, MO.
From St. Louis, take I-55 south to Highway 67 south to
Greenville. From here, continue south about 1 mile and look
for signs.
From Poplar Bluff take Highway 67 north about 29
miles and look for signs.
If utilizing Apple or Google Maps, key in "Greenville Recreation Area". Select the location that is located in Greenville, MO. This will take you directly to the entrance of the campground to check in.
Greenville Recreation Area is accessible from I-55 via Highway 67, which is approximately 1 mile away from the campground.

Policies & Rules
General
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- Existing day use shelter reservations may be cancelled by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers if the facility is closed due to flooding, elevated security threats, maintenance problems, etc. Reservations may also be cancelled when the reservation conflicts with large public special events that would negatively impact a private event at the shelter. For these reasons, customers should consider an alternate date or location in the event a closure is necessary. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
- This campground was completely renovated in 2019. Every site has been upgraded to full hook-up campsites, 50 amp electric, water and sewer. Each impact site was upgraded to concrete 16'X40' pads and include and accessible firering/grill, picnic table, and lantern post.
- All campers MUST register with gate attendant upon arrival to receive site and vehicle tags.

- Attention All Recreation Users: If you would like to hold an event or wedding at any of the project’s day use shelters, boat ramps, or any recreation area please call or visit the USACE Wappapello Lake project office to obtain the special use or event permit REQUIRED.These permits are required if you are hosting: a large gathering greater than 50 people, fishing tournaments, 5k’s, weddings, use of a bounce house/water slide of any kind, ETC. Please note that if events are held that require, but do not possess a special use or special event permit may be subject to a WRITTEN CITATION. Per Title 36 CFR 327.21(a) If you are planning on hosting an event and it does not fall under these specific criteria, please contacting with the USACE Wappapello Lake Project Office at 1(573) 222-7500 or messaging us on our Facebook page.
