Nice campground. Park Host Barbara was friendly and helpful, and answered all our questions. The custodian (Mike) was helpful also, and the bathrooms were kept tidy and clean. The swimming area is big with picnic tables nearby. While there is gravel leading TO the water, once you're in the water, the rocks are treacherous. I've been to nearby COE swimming areas that have gravel past the waterline (like Aunts Creek), which makes it much easier and enjoyable to swim. Please do the same at the Baxter campground!

Had no lake view due to the grown up brush along the shore.

The tree at the back of the campsite was in a bad place. We backed too much and broke one of the top lights.

Second visit to Baxter. In site 38 this time. The park is well kept, restrooms and showers always clean. The site is directly under the power lines so I wouldn’t choose it again but I had a fantastic 6 days anyway. One of my favorite campgrounds. Highly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed camping at Baxter Campground. Impressed that the crew evidently cut the downed wood and left it stacked at most every site. It was quiet, peaceful & beautiful.
