We had a wonderful time camping at the Frank Russell campground. The weather cooperated, and my girlfriend didn't fill the tanks (black and grey), and actually conserved the fresh water, she's learning, LOL. The campground is very nice, well maintained and clean. The site are large and private, although many of the sites have different levels, separated by railroad ties, and the sites are quite a distance from the lake (about 700 feet). It's hard to get a clear view of the lake through the all trees, and getting to the lake to fish can be perilous, the approach to the lake is very steep and rocky in most places. Once we were able to find a smooth enough spot we did catch a lot of nice fish, crappies and white bass, even a few small stripers, with night crawlers. The campground is kind of desolate, the nearest grocery store is a half hours drive away down a few dusty (gravel) roads. It would be wise to stock up well before getting to the campground.

We enjoyed camping at Frank Russell, sights are well maintained and far enough apart for privacy . Shower houses are nice and well maintained. My wife and I both enjoy antiques, Perry MO is pretty close and has several antique shops so we usually add that to our trip as well.
