My husband and I have stayed at Ray Behrens for the past 9 years - two times per year. Our most recent stay was not a very productive, happy stay. The firepits looked like they had not been cleaned out all year. There was cement-hard ashes about 9 inches high piled in each firepit, almost making it impossible to start a fire. We had to literally scrape the rock-hard ashes out of the way so that we could start fire. Also, the bathrooms were not very clean. The hostess (the older lady) was very rude. Our friends drove into the adjacent area called Deer Run in the same campground to look at the sites and explore. They had their tag from the Little Blue Stem area that was in the same campground. The older lady hostess literally pulled in front of them and blocked their vehicle, abruptly came out of her car, and questioned them as to why they were in that area of the same campground. My friends explained to her calmly that they were looking for sites in case they wanted to stay in that area on a future trip. She told them-----"you are in site #95. You need to go back to your site and stay there." It was a very rude, unnecessary statement and totally inappropriate, as they were only driving slowly around looking at sites. Our reservation was to go to October 6, but we had to leave October 4. We were to receive a two night refund less $10, which we had received in the past. I did not receive the refund email. On October 5 and October 6, I called the Ranger office (not the check-in booth at 473-735-4097). I was told I would have to speak with Chris, the Ranger. I left voice mail messages for him both days to see when we would get the refund. He NEVER has returned my calls. I filled out the refund form on your website and received the standard email stating the campground would email me regarding the refund. STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED or heard anything back via email or phone. This is very frustrating and inappropriate.

Very nice park with spacious sites and extra long pads. Trees in the campground are plentiful and add to a beautiful setting.

Wish campsites were more level. they were clean and tidy. Bath house was small and needed to be updated but overall clean. they are in process of building a new bath house. the park was not crowded in oct.

Third time camping here, always a good experience. Clean restrooms, helpful hosts. Not all sites are level, but we like the the Ridge area for peace and quiet.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
