Ray Berens has everything you need to enjoy a great time camping fishing boating and hiking. Trails are very nice. There is easy access to boat ramp with plenty of parking for trailers. The campgrounds are first class offering paved roads , paved pads for campers and vehicles to park on. The lots are spaced so you are not on top of each other. Very impressed that the picnic tables were all aluminum easy to sit on without getting splinters. The restroom/ shower house was modern and kept clean. Water in shower offered nice and hot water. Each site has a fire pit like we have never seen before. The person at the entrance was funny and helpful when asked. We will make this a regular destination for camping fun every year. So easy to get to on the beautiful reservoir

Stayed at sites 101,102,103. The sites are very difficult to get into due to the angle degree the site sits at. We spent over 3 hours attempting to get everyone trailer leveled. I wouldn't recommend staying here at these sites unless you like it when it takes 3 hours to get set up. Also one of the sites had a broken camper window on the ground that no one had picked up. People, animals, and vehicle were all driving over it prior to us arriving.
Blackjack Marina - hands down the nicest group of people and cheap all day pontoon rentals. Must do activity.

We absolutely love Ray Behrens. We stay here at least two times a year for a period of 7 to 10 days, but I do have two suggestions. The first would be for the fire pits to be cleaned out at least four times per camping season. Upon our arrival recently, the rain had caused the ashes in the pit to become as hard as cement. We did notify the ranger who offered to send someone to clean them out the following day. We cleaned them out ourselves. We had a group of three campsites. The second would be if possibly the Corp of Engineers could improvise some bank fishing spots throughout the area of Mark Twain Lake. We love to fish but do not have the luxury of having a fishing boat or pontoon. Each time we go to Mark Twain Lake, we spend much time looking for a decent area to fish from the banks, but have yet to find a nice level spot except for boat launching areas, which you cannot fish from. Or maybe someone has a suggestion as to where to bank fish. Otherwise, Ray Behrens is a beautiful, quiet camping area. The campsites have plenty of room between them for privacy. The restrooms and showers are clean and the hosts are very kind.

We didn't have electricity when we first arrived. One phone call and someone was there and has us electricity within minutes. Beautiful place.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
