We love to camp at River Road! It is our favorite place to go. You can fish, bike/walk the park streets and the mostly paved 4 mile bike/walk trail. The park is great for the kids since the park is mostly flat. This is where my oldest son learned to ride his bike. The sand beach is a short drive. My family loves playing in the sand and building their sand castles. Warning: That sand gets HOT! We also enjoy going to Lon Sanders Canyon while we are there. We enjoy walking up the creek on the rocks. It is a game to see who can stay dry the entire time. Rocky Falls and a tour of the springs in the area are good day trips too. There are a few restaurants in town and near the lake area. Lots of updates are being made to the park, so that excites us a lot too!!!

This park doesn’t monitor anyone checking in and let’s people park boats and trucks in grass on all sites. Also I saw 3 groups saving sites for people instead of reserving and paying online!!!! No one is enforcing Corp rules at this campground!

Site 20
The park was very peaceful, site was large, shady and almost level. Wish it had full hookups. Will probably stay there again.
