This park was the WORST USAC Park out of the 4 USAC Parks we stayed at ,each multiple days, since end of May 2021.
Stopped to check in. No one was there at gate 1:20pm. A sign in the window said Out to Lunch be back at 1:00pm. After waiting 15 minutes we went ahead to our campsite. At 2:00 pm went back to Gatehouse where Park Attendant was then eating her lunch.
Bathrooms were not cleaned Monday or Tuesday. All that time Men's had fecal matter on both stools. urinal was filthy. Went in as cleaning staff walked out after they finished cleaning on Wednesday. They had not cleaned the stools or urinal. The lights on the ceiling of the bathroom were so filled with bugs. They were dim. The outside lights were useless as they were black with bugs.
The Park Attendant for the Gate had a dog that barked continuously in the morning at 6:00am on for an 1 1/2 hours. Very disturbing when one is trying to sleep.
Many dogs were not on leashes as required as a law within the Park.
No one was given a tag as a registered guest. Unregistered vehicles were coming in and out all times of the day and night. Very disturbing. I believe one could set up camp and management including Gate Attendant would never know if they were a paid customer or not.
The dump station water valve was shut off, but was running water full force on the ground. Maintenance drove passed and left without investigating. What a waste!!!
I never saw a Park Ranger to talk to, although one must have gone through. No cell service and Project office closed to public so none of the issues could be expressed to local management.
I spoke to other campers who felt the same way I did acknowledging the same problems.
It was made very clear to us as customers that Project Office management had no respect for their job or no respect for USAC property they managed.
My family and I will NEVER RETURN to this USAC Park as long as it is under the same management staff in the Project Office.
Thank You.

We wish there were more drinking water faucets thorough out the park. To make it easier to refill our drinking water tank. We love the bike/walking trail paving being extended.More paved trails to ride would be awesome. We love to walk and ride in the woods. The new walking trails are awesome. More benches along the trail IN THE SHADE would be great. And maybe some along the high bank in the campground to watch the river. We have noticed that after the bad storm came over the dam and took down a lot of trees. The down trees were clean out. BUT NO NEW TRESS WERE REPLANTED IN THE AREA WHERE THE TREES WERE TAKEN OT. Why not replant trees? And if the different federal agencies would put in more campgrounds around the country it would be AWESOME. I know of some Forest Service cg's , in fact we ae going to go see one this Thursday, Loggers Lake. We have been told that this a piece of heaven in the Mark Twain Forest. We kove the woods, but at our age camping in the summer without electric hook up well we don't camp, because our old bodies don't tolerate the heat as much as they use to. So maybe in the future these gems could have electric hookups. It has a vault toilet. As I said I have not been there yet, but have been told that there is a vault toilet. No problem. I will check if it has a dump station next to it. So we could dump our rv, or pull a portable sewage tank over to the port so we could dump our black tank. Yes I know it is the woods. But as I said, just getting to old to do the rustic type camping any more. Been there, done that, Used to tent camp a lot. With all the people that have discovered the great outdoors because of the COVID-19. A lot of those people will give up their rv because they will find out it is not for them. But so many will find that they will like being out in the woods. So we will need more camp grounds .We recently drove through Greenville camp ground. WOW, wish all the COE campgrounds were like this. AWESOEM job COE.
