We came up on a Sunday and stayed til Friday, since the weekends are crazy packed and I like less people! It was nice most people left out Sunday or Monday morning and there were probably seven or eight campsites full in the whole park! The river was not crowded and we were able to float only bumping into about 10-15 people on and off as we floated down! If you are like me and prefer to have some quiet exploring I highly suggest week day visits! The park its self was amazingly well kept, every bathroom I visited was clean and everything worked as it should. The River access was clean and beautiful! We found the secret swim beach and there was only one family there once every other time it was empty just us snorkeling looking for cool rocks and enjoying ourselves! Highly recommend camping here and visiting all the parks around!

My main criticism of my campsite (which was similar to most campsites) is that there was a lot of mud (dirt when dry) covering the asphalt parking spot of it. There was rain for several days and it was impossible to get to your vehicle without slipping and sliding thru the muddy mess, let alone having it on your shoes and tracking it where-ever you went (tent, camper, etc). This dirt/mud wasn't something that developed over-night, I believe it had been there for a long time so there had been opportunity to get it removed prior to my visit. Perhaps it had been there since the last time the river overflowed its banks, which was certainly not recently prior to my mid-July visit. The mud was quite slippery in tennis shoes and the chance of someone slipping and injuring themselves existed.

Beautiful place, clean facilities, always love going to Alley. Only wish there were more electric sites. Close to the water and great spots at camp to play outside games and star gaze at night.

No electric available for tent sites. Camp sites are nowhere near the water! To access the river you must drive down a gravel road, park (if there is any space to park!), then it's a hell of a walk through soft sand (almost impossible to drag kayaks, coolers and such through) to get to a rather small gravel bar. At one point while we were at the gravel bar there were about 150 plus people all in the water. Also, locals filled us in about how this park was acquired ultimately being stolen from original owners. Much better places to stay that are on the water and privately owned! Won't stay here again.
