What Guests Are Saying
Big Spring Campground is a peaceful and well-maintained location, known for its beautiful spring and river, making it ideal for outdoor activities such as fishing, canoeing, and hiking. Visitors appreciate the clean facilities, helpful staff, and the serene atmosphere, especially during less crowded times. While some guests noted the lack of water and electric hook-ups at sites and occasional noise from other campers, many expressed a strong desire to return for the natural beauty and overall enjoyable experience.

My brother and I had a fantastic time! Great loop and one of the best sites on the loop. There’s a trail entrance on the site that’ll take you to the river in less than 3 minuets.
There’s also a turkey that lives in the loop that goes by the name of Pumpkin. She loves crackers and gives good luck in return.
Big Spring is one of the best campgrounds we’ve ever visited. I highly recommend exploring the trails all around the park, to fish/swim at the river and to visit the Big Spring because it’s so beautiful!

Very nice campground. I last camped here in 1974, and I was impressed with the improvements made since then. As always, the spring is impressive with its water flow.

Our site’s fire ring was on the driver side of the trailer, which is opposite of kost trailer orientations. Other than that we really enjoyed our time.

Always A beautiful spot to visit. The bugs were particularly bad this time and it made it hard to enjoy being outside of the campers. May have helped to have the grass mowed.

Campsites were too close together. Too crowded. Not my style.

While the campground is well maintained as far as mowing, the campsites that are listed as full shade are far from it. Also, the flies are insane. It would be nice if the campground would spray the area before summer season started. Also, in all the campsites I saw the fire ring was located on the backside of the camper pull in, which means you have to go all the way around the camper to get inside. I have never been to a sight that didnt have the fire ring on the same side as the camper doors. Also note that even though you are a short distance to the current river you do not have view of it. The cell service was spotty but better than some we have been to. The hot showers and the rest rooms were clean and very well maintained. Probably wouldnt return simply because we know there are other camp sights that have real river access.
