Fun area to explore, and a spring 3 miles away helped the fact that there was no potable water at the cabin.

As always, love this cabin and the location.
This year though there were a ton of deer flies. No amount of bug spray would keep them away.
Still itching!!

Very nice cabin in a great location. The cabin was clean and well maintained. The creek and nature trail were very nice. The area offers fantastic ohv opportunities. Bring lots of extra gas.

What a place. Idyllic. I hate to take a star off for something so petty, but there was no potable water due to an apparent disagreement between the Forest Service and UM-Western. No matter. A small inconvenience, all things considered. I'm not a fan of the bedroom--I find it close--so I slept outside while my sister slept in the room. Those two little things won't keep me from coming back, over and over again. Oh, and my elderly Aussie loved the brook. For a dog that doesn't like water that much, he sure spent a lot of time in it. And I haven't seen him this happy in a long, long time.
Be sure to check out the old CCC camp. Some nice story boards. Also, some pretty good short hikes in the immediate vicinity.

This cabin was a real surprise. Private, cozy. But watch out for the mice. Found one in the back of the pickup two days later. Must have been in our gear. Check out the slag piles down the road. Also, check out the CCC camp just up the hill from the cabin. Educational.

We didn't have much snow for skiing, but enjoyed the trail out of the cabin up to Middle Peak. We also hiked the trails into Bond Lake, Deerhead Lake, and out to Dinner Station. All good. Our only concern was that there didn't seem to be a lot of firewood supply, unless it is stashed in the locked outbuilding. Other than that, great cabin and good time.

Beautiful location, nice cabin! We brought our own water and were glad we did, as the water system was down for drinking water. Other than that, wonderful stay!

lock was hard to open
cabin clean, no proof of mice till we got settled in, then we got 'em
The wood stove in the bunkroom needs the rope replaced, it was hard to keep an even heat going
will definitely reserve again

Great cabin, spacious, beats sleeping on the ground for sure. Very easy to get too. Nice hiking in the area. The kitchen stove was a little challenging to keep lit, but the bedroom fire place made up for it. It was cool a place. If you are not a camper and want to explore some outdoors this is the cabin.

Wonderful historic cabin on Birch Creek in the Pioneer Mountains. Very scenic area with lots of outdoor activities to pursue, such as fishing, hiking, ATV riding, or just relaxing and enjoying the cabin experience. Needed repairs to this cabin have been neglected, but we still had a very nice visit. Bring mouse traps!
