What Guests Are Saying
Some guests reported a strong propane smell from a nearby chemical factory. Accessing the site involved navigating a washed-out road with deep mud, which caused frustration and wasted time for some visitors. Concerns were raised about the management's awareness of these issues without taking proper action.

Smelled like propane from the near chemical factory.
The agent insisted a drive down the adjacent road to access the site. The road is washed out with 10 inch deep mud. I wasted hours of time getting the mud off my vehicle.
They knew better, but did not care.

We work in the area and stay for roughly 4-6 weeks. Owner is very accommodating, and helpful. We also have been staying in the Fort Benton area for the past 14 years, for work related purposes. The kids can play freely, and the locals are aware of the kids.
Best part is when the ice cream truck stops by.
Overall I would recommend this stay for the small town, there are activies throughout the summer in the downtown district. If you are expecting High end KOA or luxury park with a list of rules and strict enforcement this isn't it. Everyone knows everyone, and there is a mutual respect.
**I also want to add the previous review from a gentleman, never once came to a parent about the kids, asked the kids for privacy, or mentioned anything to the park owner until the next day, he also never moved a picnic table to his area, the toys he is referring too were around a trailer that belong to the families. The kids were in bed by 9, and were around camp for an hour. The kids may have been more loud than he liked, but it definitely was not past "quiet time" or after dark.

I needed their accommodations to empty what we had accumulated over the weekend. I gave them a call and the lady was super sweet and told me where it was located. She said she was leaving for a bit so I offered to pay and she said consider it a freebie!!! This just adds to our belief that FORT BENTON is full of awesome people!!!

We stayed here almost a month following our daughter & son-in-law kayaking down the Missouri River. Very nice campground & wonderful people running it. Pet friendly, gravel sites with lots of grass. Laundry on site. , within walking distance to town. Full hookups.

The lady owner is very pleasant and showed us to our site and made sure we were set up comfortably. Our site with gravel and wood border was level and long. Utilities worked well. But the park needs some attention! Lots of weeds, little or no shade for most sites, less than appealing views of trucks, old tires, dumpster and seasonal workers RVs. This is a gravel road and industrial area so the dust flies when trucks go by. Old lumber and junk in the area of the restrooms. Did not use restrooms since they were locked (COVID?) There are many things that could be done to make the park more attractive. The photos and description on their website are less than accurate. Luckily, the small historic town has many nice and interesting features to keep us occupied.
