More convenient than hiking to find a camp spot, afraid with todays time constraints those days are gone. Beautiful view... would have been spectacular if the lookout tower was accessible.
Had a great time and met lots of locals rambling up the dead end road. Looking forward to checking out other recreation.gov sights throughout Montana.

The cabin was clean and very comfortable. There was enough wood for the fire pit and the wood stove. It was a great experience. I would only recommend supplying more toilet paper.

We were able to drive right to the gate due to lack of snow, thankfully, and our doggos really loved the brief mile hike up the remainder of the road to the cabin. We found the cabin extremely clean, stocked with firewood, and quite cozy for two humans and two doggos. While the wind howled outside, we were snugly inside our winter wonderland reading some very intriguing guestbook entries. This was my first stay at a FS cabin, and I have to say, when I got home, I started checking out others in my area so I could do it again. 4G service is available, but you will want to turn off your phone in order to truly enjoy your off-the-grid experience.

Wonderful cozy cabin with amazing views! We had a great time at the cabin and there is plenty of hiking and biking in the area. The fire tower is really neat, only allowed to the first level, can't go all the way up. But views were amazing and watching the sunset is so beautiful. There are other people that wander up the hill, on foot, atv, or car, to see the tower too and check out the views.
