Summer Star Ranch

Summer Star Ranch was the perfect venue for our perfect day! Starr and Matt are amazing to work with: extremely kind, helpful, and accommodating. The location is great: a beautiful 30min drive out of Helena (close enough for easy access for guests and vendors but far enough to feel like you’ve been transported to a magical mountain getaway), nestled in the Big Belt Mountains, with stunning views for all your photography needs. The barn is beautiful and is equipped with pretty much everything you need (no need to rent tables or chairs) and can be decorated however you like. There are two ceremony spots to choose, both beautiful. There are also a couple of cabins and a glamping tent on the property. We stayed in the glamping tent on our wedding night and we also rented the two cabins for our immediate family and bridal party to get ready in and stay in. There is also a campground down the road that many of our guests camped at. The large horse pastures made for some amazing photos, and since we were married they have also added some highland cows! It did end up raining on our day, but even that couldn’t have ruined the beauty of the ranch, and honestly, the photos turned out amazing. It was the moody magical western wedding day of our dreams and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. We cannot recommend Summer Star Ranch highly enough! Thank you so much Starr and Matt!

You just can't beat this place. I've been going out to Montana for a number of years with my family and this is far and away the best place we've ever stayed. The ranch itself is awesome -- horses, cows, sheep, great scenery, perfect MT cabins, areas for walking, ATV/horse rides. But you really can't beat the location. You've got all the solitude and peace of the ranch and then it's just an easy drive to downtown Helena -- as well as short drives to unbelievable fly fishing (Missouri River & tons of other smaller rivers/creeks) and outdoor rec areas. Matt and Starr are great hosts and it's easy to see how dedicated they are to keeping the ranch well maintained and taking great care of their animals. Thanks for everything and we'll see you for our next trip in the Spring 2026!

Hats off to Matt and Starr for what they have built and their exceptional hosting. This place is a gem and the glamping tent is a must do. Skip the hotels and dont worry about the short and beautiful drive from the ranch to town, it's well worth it.

Awesome property. I was there for a welcome party and a wedding - both were beautifully executed. Star and Matt are very hands-on and made sure every aspect of the events was perfect.

Summer Star Ranch is picturesque, nestled between rolling hills and mountaintops.This remote ranch offers an authentic experience with a variety of activities to explore. Enjoy exploring the landscape horseback riding at sunset or driving an atv on mountainous trails. There are several different lodging options on the ranch (perfect for a larger group). The outdoor shower attached to the cabin is a magical way to wash off the montana dust of the day and the wrap around porch is a pleasant space to drink your morning coffee. I was lucky enough to meet the owners, Star and Matt, and felt welcomed and embraced by their white glove service and genuine engagement with their guests. Thank you!
