About White Earth Campground

White Earth Group Use Shelter is located at White Earth Campground, just east of the town of Winston, Montana, on Canyon Ferry Reservoir. In 1805, the Lewis and Clark expedition passed through this region. On July 22, 1805, Sacagawea recognizes the country and assures the men that the three forks of the Missouri were of no great distance. This news gave the expedition hope in the anticipation of soon reaching the headwaters of the Missouri River.

We camp here and fish a lot and only have great reviews due to quiet camping, clean toilet vaults, clean campsites, no generators running after quiet hours, and easy to make reservations on line for a very reasonable price. Keep up the good work!

The access to the lake for non-boaters was a little precarious in places from the campground. I think steps would be a wonderful addition for us older folks. (lol) .
Enjoyed our stay, enjoyed a wonderful thunder storm that cooled the air temps!
We will return!

Need to dredge launch bay a little deeper. Definitely need a fish cleaning station with water put in next to the handicap restroom. There is already a fresh water supply there. Unfortunately they are removing the dock due to low water levels prior to Oct 1

Great experience as usual. Wish there was a little carved walking trail from the north end of the campground down to the water so we can access from more than one point.

I loved this campsite so much! It was beyond beautiful. Had to walk to the vault toilet but it was clean and well taken care of. A long gravel road to get there but not bad.
