It was a nice place and would have given it a good rating. I made a mistake on booking and booked for one night instead of two so I tried to book the next night but it was full. So had to book another site for the two nights. Asked for refund but they would not give me one. First time using this site to book my teservation.

Great camping experience as numbers of campers have certainly increased for a weekday from previous years! Toilet vaults are clean and well stocked. Very easy to make reservations and make payments so thanks for the online reservation system.

Beautiful campground among the farmland and rolling hills of Montana. Positioned right on the edge of a wide part of the Missouri River. Be prepared to drive a few miles out on a gravel road to reach the campground. It’s very well maintained so it should be no problem. If you’re into birding, there are lots of them. Both throughout the campground, and along the road. If you continue straight, instead of taking the final left fork towards the campground, there is a dead end road. Parking at the end of the road allows you access to a great bird viewing area, while walking along the river shore, or along the gravel road looking into the trees. There is also a great restaurant called “The Big Bull” right off the east side of the highway before transitioning to the gravel road. Awesome food and great service. Lots of sun exposure in the campground. A little dusty when the wind kicks up, and it was quite windy during my stay but I found that enjoyable. Vault toilet facilities, which were clean, and the only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5, is the lack of running water facilities. All in all, this campground is definitely worth a stay if you’re heading through the area.

Very clean, nice and quiet. Camp host was very nice and helpful. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Fresh water to fill out tank.

Even though it was dry camping, nice water for kayaking, very quiet and very dark at night.The 5.5 mile road was in very good shape, had to be aware of deer in the evening and early morning drives.

General
- All campsites are to be considered single unit sites unless marked as a double site. Single campsites are limited to one camping / sleeping unit per campsite. An exception will be made for parents with young children; Parents may have one additional tent for children under the age of 18.
- Personal property used to reserve campsites, including RVs and tents will be removed in accordance with 43 CFR Part 423.23.
- RVs, vehicles and trailers must be parked on the gravel/pavement and within designated areas of the campsite or established parking area provided.
- Pets must be physically constrained by a leash under 6' in length or a structure. Do not leave pets left unattended. It is your responsibility to clean up after your own pet.
- Be considerate of other campers. Activities and noise should be kept to a level that does not disturb other campers. Generators are not allowed during quiet hours. The use of loud, profane, or abusive language or music is prohibited.
- No electrical source for camp trailers or RVs is available at shelters.
- Price of shelter includes five designated campsites.
- No show reservations are subject to cancellation after the third night.
- Campsites must be occupied each night
- While at Canyon Ferry Reservoir: CLEAN, DRAIN, DRY boats and any other recreational equipment that comes in contact with water. Never dump unwanted bait, worms, fish parts or other organisms into the water. For more information visit https://www.invasivespeciesinfo.gov/ STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES. REMOVE plants, seeds, animals and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicle. CLEAN your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site. STAY on designated roads and trails and use local firewood.
