Fourmile Cabin is open year-round and offers guests a rustic mountain retreat surrounded by majestic scenery. The cabin offers an electric cooking stove, lights, and a refrigerator. Guests will need to bring most of their own gear and supplies to ensure a comfortable stay. The cabin is accessible by vehicle during warmer months, along a gravel county road. Late-season ice may require guests to snowshoe, hike or snowmobile up to 3.5 miles to the cabin. Guests arriving in winter should be prepared to snowmobile, ski or snowshoe up to 11 miles along the access road to the cabin. Guests are responsible for their own travel arrangements and safety.

Beautiful quiet location between the mountains! Awesome 1937 log cabin with access to Boulder River, Fourmile Creek, and the Fourmile Trail right out the door. (The cabin is still signed as a “field station” with a gated entrance.) New stove was installed in August but the kitchen plywood counter is overdue for repair or replacement. There was still at least one mouse running around. Previous guests have left ample supplies- perhaps too many.

Cabin exactly as described. Some campers/ RVs at nearby sites, so not completely remote but a great base camp for us. Lots of nearby hiking opportunities, crystal clear rivers, and gorgeous scenery!

Such a great, rustic mountain cabin! Basic pots/pans and dishes are provided though you may prefer to bring paper plates and plastic silverware as there is no running water so it just makes things a bit easier. The oven display doesn't work so you can't see what temperature you're setting it at to bake so bring an oven thermometer if you'll need exact temps. We were there in February 2024 and because it was so cold, the refrigerator wouldn't run but once the cabin got heated up, it kicked on. Unfortunately, the prior guests left a bunch of beer/soda cans in the refrigerator and they froze and exploded so we had quite a mess to clean up. PLEASE pack out what you pack in, especially in the refrigerator. There's no extra supply of toilet paper or paper towels so be sure to bring some extra. We had such a fun time in the cabin!

  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee.
