Great place to hike, fish, and/or relax. Moose frequent the area adding to the charm. Camping during the week is best as Basin is very popular and can get crowded on the weekends.
The area does show a lot of use (and abuse) as many of the trees show scars from morons who feel they must carve the tree bark and strip branches. Please help protect and save our valuable natural resource!

Nice CG and host...close to red lodge(was a nice town...hopefully they recover quickly) and beartooth highway...paved road to CG and one way loop inside..no cell service if that matters to you..moose in and around camp..next to river/creek...unfortunately river flooded and made a big mess...fortunately a ranger kicked everyone out of CG sunday night...we were in wyoming by midnight...thank you mr ranger/forest service.

The only negative comment I have is that one of the water pumps was out of service. The camp hostess kept things very clean and was extremely helpful and friendly.

Camp host is doing a great job of keeping the camp clean. The restrooms were also clean and well stocked. The hike to Basin Lake 1 is a moderately difficult trip but worth it. A mere 1/4 mile up the trail is a lovely waterfall. Haven't been to 2. The Silver Run trail is less challenging however every bit as beautiful. From the Basin trail lot you can hike a 1, 2, or 3 mile loop, the trail offering cut-acrosses from the trail following the base of the mountain to the trail paralleling Rock Creek.
