Under Canvas West Yellowstone

We loved our stay at Under Canvas. Service was fantastic (the team were very responsive to any and all questions asked via text, even late in the evening). Tents were spacious and dry even during an overnight storm, and beds comfortable and warm. Would recommend taking them up on their offer of a hot water bottle at night even if you aren’t sure you’ll need it! View of the stars was beautiful. Quiet hours started at 10 pm and seemed well-respected by all guests, and hot coffee and tea were a delightful pre-dawn find when we were up early to head out to a distant hike. We’ll stay here again!

This place is a MUST GO! Beautiful, clean, and the perfect mix of "camping" & luxury. In the later season the nights are chilly, but the fire is easy to get going & keeps the tent nice and toasty. The furnishings were beautiful and beds & pull-out couch were comfortable. The staff were absolutely amazing and available at all hours of the night. Restaurant was delicious & the common area was the perfect place to unwind after a full day of exploring. JUST BOOK IT:)

We loved our stay at Under Canvas West Yellowstone! We cannot recommend the Under Canvas experience or this particular location enough! Our tent was clean, beautiful, and comfortable, and we enjoyed all of the amenities including the river, games, and refreshments on campus. The compound is beautiful, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The location is super convenient with a two minute drive from downtown West Yellowstone and ten from the West Yellowstone National Park Entrance. We were so close to the park we heard wolves howling at night and were able to see the Milky Way at night. It was unforgettable. This stay was a highlight of our trip!

I had a good experience at under canvas west Yellowstone. The location is beautiful and the live music is good. The restaurant also has amazing food. It would have been nice to know that if you want a tent with a good quiet location or view, that you should call well in advance. When we arrived we had a tent facing a bush very close to the lobby with lots of activity and live music. It is interesting that most of the tents do not face the mountains, though they are mostly all private. This all being said the staff was very kind and helpful in relocating us to a tent that made us happy with a great view and a stargazer, which I highly recommend. Keep in mind that you will have to wake up to tend to the fire every 2-3 hours at night even in the dead of August.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights as part of a longer holiday. Overall, we’d highly recommend our experience at Under Canvas. We had a stargazing tent for 2 people. The bed was massive, very comfy and very warm. The shower was great and the log burner was a must as even in August the temperate was dropping to freezing over night.

The food and service in the restaurant was good and communal areas were all functional (even if there was limited choice at the bar).

The location is also great for access to West Yellowstone and the National Park itself.
