Quiet, great view over the river and the fishermen on the SD side. Most all sites in the shade and pretty flat. Visitor Center nearby is really entertaining and informative with extraordinary view up the Lewis and Clark lake. Terrific bike paths on the SD side and there are many activities available within the Lewis and Clark Campground. Other than fishing the river not a lot of kids things at Tailwaters. We are there often. Only downside is crossing the narrow access across the dam from the SD side.

From Yankton, South Dakota, go south on U.S. Highway 81 for 2 miles, then west on Nebraska Highway 121 for 4 miles, campground entrance will be on your right.
