Lovely spot and wonderful overall area host. However, there is no longer an onsite host whereas there are many many many yellow jackets, which is fine if you don't have kids and only eat in your car or after the sun sets.

Check-in time was at 2pm. The camp host did not unlock the restroom until 6 PM. On top of that, they only unlocked one restroom at the campsite when there was two restrooms.

The camp host welcomed us. The pit toilets were well stocked and emptied after our 2nd night. It was quiet and mostly empty in the middle of the week.

Great campground & sites on weekdays when it's mostly empty. The water buckets at each water faucet for putting out campfires was brilliant! Geat area & lakes!

Campsites are an easy downhill walk to the shore of Lake Alpine and to the trail around the lake. Campsites are of good size for 1-2 person tents, might be crowded for a larger tent. Some campsites are good for a small RV. If most of the campground spaces are taken the campground would feel crowded. Toilet facilities were well maintained; potable spigot water was easily available.

The pit toilets are disgusting. The fact that you have one toilet for both men & women is disturbing enough and the smell is atrocious. You used to have flush toilets which really made this area wonderful.

The camp spot #3 was perfect size and very flat, about a 10 min walk to the lake but beautiful scenery on the way. The only downfall was there were so many yellow jackets! It was very annoying trying to cook or eat in peace with out being swarmed by these yellow jackets. According to camp host it’s seasonal and only lasts for a period of time during this time of year (Mid-August)
When not eating/cooking we were able to enjoy normally. Lake is pretty but rocky, bring your water shoes.

General
- This high alpine campground is very old, and was not designed and built with modern RVs in mind. It contains narrow roads, tight turns, and many, many inconvenient boulders and trees. RVs are allowed in every site if they fit, but this campground is a far cry from an RV park. The only surefire way to know if you can comfortably fit your RV in a specific site is to take an exploratory trip to scout it out for yourself.
- Site driveways are asphalt and may not be level. There is no guarantee of sites having level driveways. Please bring ample leveling equipment for RVs and trailers.Driveway lengths are estimates and not guaranteed.
- Campsites must be occupied during the dates of reservation. Guests who do not arrive by 2PM on the day following their scheduled date of arrival will be considered a No-Show and their reservation will automatically be cancelled.
- Dogs must remain on leash and under control at all times. Dogs may not be left in camp unattended, and all leads must be 6 feet or less in length. USFS guidelines allow for a maximum of two dogs per campsite.
- Generator use is limited to 2 hours per day, in between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm.
- This is bear country-Be bear aware! Keep all food out of sight in containers or inside a locked vehicle. Remove all food from the area after eating.
- Boats have a 10 MPH speed limit on the lake.
- No electric hookups, water, or sewer hookups available. Drinking water available through spigots.
- All equipment must fit on the site pad. Vehicles park in developed areas only.
- No extra vehicles are allowed. Extra vehicle parking is available along Highway 4 and campground entrance roads.
