Received an email the day of our arrival stating Ward Mountain Campground had no water. Of course we did not get email as we were traveling. As if that was not bad enough, they also do not provide trash dumpsters. Might as well do dispersed camping and save yourself the money.

One of the best CGs we've stayed in. Very clean and maintained. Water was down, but we carry our own.

Our site was close to level. Cellular AT&T coverage was pretty good. The park was very quiet at night.

The camp ground and bathrooms were clean and nice. The tables at the group site were very dirty. The camp host was nice most of the time but when he had a complaint he was kind of nasty. Just saying things a little different would have made those encounters more pleasant.

Clean, well kept, easy access. A favorite place to stopover when heading north.

We loved the 'backyard ' into the woods. Also, we left a hammer behind which the park staff quickly mailed back to us! (above and beyond what I expected). Good night sky star viewing. Clean. Friendly. An activity our kids loved (well honestly, the adults too) was Garnett Hill sifting for garnets for free.

This was a great stopover going and coming from Missouri to the Redwoods. It was well maintained and met our needs perfectly.

The campsite was very clean and organized however I was disappointed that there was no fresh water. Also, you can hear the noise from the highway. Those were the only drawbacks.
