It was fine, but it was a drag that it is reservation only. I had to go into town to get wifi to make a reservation since I don't have data on my phone.

The campsite was level enough to not get out the leveling blocks. The views, especially at night were great and everyone near me respected the noise level especially during quiet hours. The time we were there was early June which was hot during the day but cooled off quickly at night. I would definitely stay there again!

Such a great campsite with beautiful desert and mountain scenery. We keep coming back, so you know it’s good. No cell service at the sites, but that’s ok with us. If you do need service, a short walk up the hill and you’re golden.

We camped with our horses and was made to feel unwelcome by the camp host as well as the park ranger. The park host harassed us on day one saying that we were NOT allowed to have horses and urged us to relocate 20 miles down the road. That sparked a visit from the park ranger. He said YES we could BUT they had to be tied to the trailer (we had put up temporary Hotwire fencing) because we were NOT to put holes in the ground with the fence stakes. Now mind you they allow tents! Tent stakes are 5x bigger than ours regarding “holes” (which ours also completely disappear once you remove the stake). How cruel is it to tie a horse on the ROCKS stationary for 4 days of camping?? There are NO trees for a picket line, no corrals, no hitching rails.

The next day the camp host came by YET AGAIN to pressure us to leave. Due to this harassment, we left at 7am the next morning.

One more note for future horse people, their entrance to the trails are ONLY for bicycles and pedestrians even tho the website says horseback riding as well. We had to get “creative” to find ways to the trials, which are scarcely marked.

I would rate this park a big fat ZERO for making us feel paranoid and uncomfortable which forced us out early.

The campground was clean and the bathrooms were clean and had a light that came on automatically at night time. That was nice because you didn't have to use a flashlight to see in the bathrooms.
It is a beautiful location and was able to watch the sunset over the mountains while cooking dinner.

The campsite is difficult to find. There is no turn-off sign on the main road. We drove past the road twice. You have to take the road leading to the fire station. The campground itself is excellent. It is very spacious, quiet, and clean. We recommend this campground.
