This was our first visit to Red Rock Canyon Campground and we enjoyed it. The campground is small, and there aren't any trees to speak of, but it never seemed crowded due to how the sites are arranged. I will say, however, that there is no signage for the loops, so if you arrive after dark (as we did) good luck finding your site on the first pass. I also did not see a loop map at the entrance. I'm thinking if we'd arrived when the camp hosts were still available, and checked in with them, we could've avoided this minor issue. The campground itself was well cared for, although we didn't use the vault toilets, so can't speak on those. There was a potable water spigot at each bathroom and they were easy to access. I don't know if it's the norm all year round, but in late Feb the winds are quite gusty. We didn't see many campers with awnings out, and we would take ours in at night to prevent damage. Many of the sites have covered shelters. The campground is super close to "town", about a 5 minute drive to stores, restaurants, etc. It's also about a 5 minute drive to the entrance to Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive. We also made a day trip over to Valley of Fire which was phenomenal. All-in a great visit. The campground always seemed fully reserved while we were there, but I have to say it was one of the quietest campgrounds we've ever stayed in. It could have been because we were not quite in-season, or that it was mid-week. The camp hosts were very attentive and happy to answer questions about dumping our tanks. There are no dump stations at the campground, we had to drive out to a privately owned park on our way home and pay to dump, but we knew this beforehand. Would definitely stay again if we're in the area.

Very well maintained campground and friendly hosts. Beautiful surroundings and close to hiking and climbing. We were in RV4 and my only disappointment is that there wasn't a nice covered picnic table area like there are in the tent spots. We were able to easily fit 2 vehicles in the spacious driveway.

The camp hosts are exemplary.
It would be GREAT if RVs with generators were limited to the RV-specific sites, away from the rest of the campers. The noise from the generators clearly disrupts and dismays all the other hundreds of guests. I had to try to sleep with earplugs and a pillow on my head, and I still couldn't stand the noise. I know the quiet hours are from 10pm to 6am, but so MANY folks like to go to sleep much earlier than 10pm. Thank you. Also, having an overflow parking lot with an outhouse for van campers would alleviate much of the problematic roadside bivouacs; it would bring in revenue and would be much safer for those campers. Finally, having a place to camp during the summer would be super nice, since much of the best season for exploring the deep canyons of Red Rocks happens in June and August. Thank you.
