I called and got a space for one night as we are making are way to the coast. After arriving we had a tiny hiccup and the rv manger stepped up immediately and saved our day! We have a lovely pull thru, we were even offered a river front. Very nice manager! I'll return again. Very accommodating.

My wife and I brought our trailer here for an over nighter and loved it here. Becka was friendly and helpful and a joy to talk to. She really seemed to enjoy helping people and making their stay a pleasant one. And she succeeded. We had a great time and the camp site was beautiful with a gorgeous view of the river. A hidden gem. Thanks Becka. You rock

We had made reservations for Saturday through Tuesday and were very happy to stay there based on on the reviews they had been given. Our RV broke and needed repair. I found a very good RV tech in Reno and had the part ordered. Contacted River West Resort and explained our issue to the owner. She allowed us to check in a day early and put us on a spot that is used for extended stays. She was very courteous and understood what we were going through. The part was out for delivery in Reno for two full days. We kept her up to date. We would love to stay again. The Truckee River flows right on the edge of the resort. We watched the geese in the river and on the resort lawn all in middle of Reno.

Can't say enough great things about this little hidden gem.
My hubby and I usually book our campsites as we go based on our eta, weather, pit stops, etc.
As hubby drove yesterday, I looked on Yelp and found a little site just outside of Reno along the river that looked promising. I tried to book online but it wouldn't let me so I called the number and spoke to a very pleasant woman who took my reservation over the phone and even offered me a first responder discount!
Upon arrival, they were set up for after hours check in and very organized and timely. Chris, the security officer guided us right to our site and was very pleasant.
Our site was a premium river side set up that did not disappoint! We backed up to the river with lush trees and greenery all around. There's a beautiful patio with chairs, tables and Edison string lights overlooking the river where we would sip our drinks after a long day of traveling and watch the geese and ducks in the river. There's also a couple of benches and fire pits established for campers to use.
There are long term residents throughout the park, and some sites are pretty close together so we were very lucky to have gotten a premium, roomy luxurious site at last minute.
We definitely recommend paying the little extra for a river front site. Site 11 & 12 are the best!
PS: the staff is very responsive to texts and questions and they were a delight!

We’ve stayed at River West Resort a few times— our first stay was over a year ago - we planned for one month but decided there was so much more to explore so we decided to stay three, our second time for two weeks passing through and then one month starting in Feb. 2026 — and we truly love this place.
Location, location, location.
One of the biggest reasons we keep coming back is how walkable everything is. We love spending weekends exploring downtown Reno, and there always seems to be something fun going on. Just within walking distance from the park, we’ve enjoyed the Western Lights Festival, PBR (Professional Bull Riding), Wine Walks, bocce ball, miniature golf, axe throwing, Dancing in the Streets Festival, and the Arts Festival. Our family from Sacramento even plans visits around our stays here because there’s so much to do.
Right across the river (a short walk from the park) is a beautiful Farmer’s Market, and the river path itself goes on for miles — perfect for walking or biking, mostly with river views. We love waking up in our riverfront spot, opening the shades, and seeing the Truckee River first thing in the morning. We’re fly fishers, so being able to walk out and fish anytime is a dream.
But beyond the location, the office and grounds staff is what truly makes this park special!
We live on the road full-time for the adventure of it and move every 30 days or so, which means we’ve stayed at a lot of RV parks and interacted with a lot of teams. The staff here stands out. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The maintenance and grounds crew work incredibly hard, and it shows — the park is well-kept and constantly being improved. Over time, the staff have become friends. They always make us feel welcomed — and missed — every time we come and go.
Safety is never a concern here, even being close to downtown as some people have mentioned in previous reviews. Of course, there is a homeless population downtown...how is that different than any downtown area in the US? If you adventure a lot and have some common sense then that issue is moot. If you still want peace of mind...there’s also a friendly nighttime security guard who patrols and helps with late arrivals. There is a train nearby that passes occasionally; you’ll hear the horn now and then (we actually enjoy the sound), but it’s not close enough to be disruptive or overly loud.
If you’re looking for a resort packed with organized amenities to keep you entertained without leaving the property, this may not be your style. But if you love exploring a city, walking to events, enjoying the river, and having quick access to skiing, hiking, and mountain adventures — you won’t be disappointed!
We’ve stayed everywhere from ultra-luxury resorts to roadside stops. In our experience, what makes or breaks a stay is the people. And we love our River West family.
We won’t stay anywhere else when we visit Reno — and if you’re a kind, fun, and respectful human being- you’ll probably fall in love with it too. 😊
