Clear decline since ownership changed. They use "safety concern" as a crutch shutting down the pools and lakes because of reported lighting within a 10-12 mile radius. They said 30 minutes but staff went home and never reopened despite clear skies. Inflatable floats used to be fun and allowed kids to run and jump on the obstacles as intended. Float is now about half what it was with overbearing lifeguards when kids were playing and playing safely. Cabins lost the jacuzzi and the other land inflatable was completely removed. Serious decline in a short period of time is concerning. Staff was not friendly. I know many other parents had the same concerns as despite a heat advisory, got shut down and there was not even a storm in the vicinity. People were verifying this with lightning strike apps and weather apps because the weather was clear as could be. Used to be one of the best campgrounds... I'd be concerned about booking again due to the current trajectory. The only positive since the change was price went down but rightfully so...

Stayed here with family and friends from 7/20- 7/23/2026. Some reviews are true. But the issue is that Sun Retreats just bought the property and the gold mine they thought they had has issues and permit issues. They are slowly working on things to make it better. Yeah we were disappointed but the staff was great to us. Especially Donovan, he came by and fixed a safety hazard and was super kind. If this resort time and it will be great like other Sun Retreats. Every time an employee drove by, they were cleaning the place and picking up trash. Why can't the campers keep it clean?

Pros- friendly staff and campers, DJ and live band is good, candy bar bingo is fun, sites seem spacious, concrete pad was nice, small ice cream window for a sweet treat, life jackets provided, WalMart was close which is convenient.

Cons - nothing for the kids to do before the pool opens at 11:00, most days the activities don't start till 3:00 pm. Lake floatie is smaller than the picture, jump pillow never opened, some of the campground facilities just seem run down between the playgrounds, arcade, and the kids play pool, The store is pretty bare, no food or restaurant on premises, goose poop all over the mini dock and field near the lake, day pass people crowding the pools, competitive speakers at the pool, it rained and they never even opened the pool when it stopped.

Overall, the feel seems like not a lot of effort has been put into making the campground the destination... And seeing as there's not much in the immediate area, it was a bit of a letdown. It would take minimal money and effort to have the event staff create a scavenger hunt for kids to do on their own time and win a silly prize or run minute to win it games during the day earlier or more. Free crafts and activities for the kids. There was no s'mores bonfire no hayrides no movies. I think management needs to do some more research and maybe spend a little money on Amazon.

This used to be my favorite campground. Since changing hands, it’s missing all of my families favorite things. The wibbit in the lake is only half of what it was last year, and not what you see in the photos, the bounce pillow for kids is no longer inflated, no more laser tag, the camp store is bare, no breakfast and half the food menu there used to be, and probably the worst part: the “Bubbly” cabins are missing the hot tubs. Prices didn’t go down, but amenities went away. Hoping they bring back what they took away, or sadly it will be our last stay.

Overall not a bad campground. Went during the Memorial Day weekend and there was a list of activities every day. Unfortunately the weather prevented most of the events from happening.
Positives: Sites were nice and clean. The pool and splash pad was very clean and big. There is a beautiful walking path along the side of the lake (be prepared for a lot of goose droppings). Good size parks for the kids.
Negatives: The prices for everything in the store seamed very high (might just be a campground thing). There also wasn’t a lot in the store. People drive golf carts all day and night and don’t care about the posted 5mph speed limit. The “sports area” need a lot of work. Grass growing on basketball court, the open field has bare spots that makes it impossible to run on or play a game of soccer and the horse shoe toss is extremely overgrown.
Customer Service: The website said there are no spots available and when I called to book, they said there was only one spot for my camper (33foot) so I obviously took it. Once I checked in, i was informed that the call center (who booked my site) accidentally book me in a permanent site and it wasn’t even ready for a camper. Because of this they put me in a different site. This wasn’t a big deal but it’s something to be aware of with these kinds of campsites.
Will definitely be going back during a warmer weekend to enjoy the water amenities.
