My expectations were exceeded. This place is well built, well maintained (with one caveat), peaceful to the extreme, and the camp hosts are friendly and helpful.
I stayed here for 14 days the first half of June. During that time this camp ground was mostly full with campers departing and coming in daily. The views here are spectacular and sell themselves. I enjoyed the walking/hiking trails etc. But what stood out the most is just how quiet and serene this place is. Even with the daily comings and goings. I just don't think I've ever stayed anywhere, including boondocking on public lands, that was this quiet and peaceful. For the first 10 days the temperatures were relatively moderate. By the last 4 days, I did need to start running the AC until things cooled down in the evening.
Espanola NM is only 30min away by car. So you are somewhat close to someplace to pickup groceries supplies etc.
Anyway, I always try to give a fair and accurate review. This is mine for Riana Campground. I highly recommend it, and I'd stay here again. But not till the temperatures cool back down again :-)...stay healthy, stay safe, and camp on!!

View of lake is beautiful!! Need a bike or car to ride to access lake (boat ramp) or you can walk to another divet for fishing. Wished the campground was closer to the boat ramp for access to swimming. Quiet at night. Not many hiking trails (I think there is just one). Not close to any town, so may sure you have all you need with you. Otherwise, safe environment. Friendly staff and campers. They accept pets.

Terrific campsite with great amenities (clean bathrooms, showers, bbq and fire rings at each spot), surprisingly quiet even with close proximity of the walk-up spaces on a full holiday weekend, and an excellent place to stay to enjoy Abiquiu Lake.
Only downside was having very little shade which made for some hot afternoons...but that’s what the lake is for.

Amazingly well kept (and rare) US Army Corps of Engineers run campground! Bathrooms (i.e. pit toilets) were immaculate and always stocked with TP. While the shower facility was VERY nice to have, it's quite small (two stalls in the male shower room) and the drainage for these showers needs improvement (the floor outside the showers was always "flooded" and gross due to dust and dirt). I'd definitely take this, though, over no shower facility :)
