Nice place. Our campsite was very recently re-paved, so there were some asphalt bits getting stuck on things, and the fresh dirt mounds on the side from grading could have been smoothed out to look better finished, but those aren’t really complaints as nature will smooth it all out soon enough.

As always the campesite is amazing and quiet. We go every year for the 4th of July to get our dogs away from the fireworks. Dissapointed that there was not camphost this year but the Forest Service was on top of taking care of the grounds. Thank you for all that you do to keep our National Forest Campgrounds in such great sahape!

The campsite was beautiful. We were on a hill and the kids had a blast going down it on their scooters. There was a stream to cool off in and lovely places to run. We took a short drive to San Gregorio trail head and hiked to the lake. Very nice.
The toilets didn't have toilet paper but all campers chipped in so there was enough. There were 2 RVs with generators, so though it was very quiet during the day and night, the generators powered on in the evenings until 9 or 10 o'clock.

There are more than 10 mi of very rough dirt road to get to the campground. It didn't appear that way on the map, and it was not mentioned when I made the reservation. That should be made very clear, and it wasn't.

Overall everything was good. The campgrounds were clean. We come every year and it was great but it did make a difference not having a camp host on site. People were building fires, running generators after hours, loose dogs running around and barking all night. All the people facilitating the campgrounds were great but people took advantage of not following campground rules. The campground host from the other campgrounds did their best but can't be everywhere. Hopefully there will be an on-site host in the future.

This is a beautiful campground. Water is available, but be aware - it is an actual water pump. Also when we were there, no campground host was on duty. This resulted in several groups who believed their dogs should be off leash the entire time of their stay. Several of those dogs weren’t particularly friendly. Keep your dogs on leash!!
