Beautiful views, very clean and well maintained. A peaceful experience other than the sound of early morning gas generators.

No host was present (yet?) but the grounds were well kept, trash emptied and campers respectful. Enjoyed 3 days of clear days, cool nights and at least for now a relaxing time by a fire. To our surprise we were able to pick up a single TV channel which was nice to catch up on news and weather. One bar of cell phone service if you don't mind hiking a quarter mile and ~500 ft up the hill to the north. One of our favorite places to camp year after year.

Nestled in a grove of Ponderosa Pines this campground is in higher ground outside Cuba NM. A quentessential FS campground that reminded me how fortunate we are. Most of the sites were reserved but no shows (a recent news article suggested this was due to bots).
Fortunately I found one and arrived near nightfall. Site was level, had a functioning fire ring, and pit toilets were well taken care of by the hosts who were located in the next campground over.
Only 15 sites here and they are well spaced, paved and well kept.
Reception was non-existent for Verizon but that's what I wanted. The cooler breeze was welcome and the sound of the breeze in the trees was mesmerizing.
I would definitely come back.
