About Jemez Falls Campground

Jemez Falls Campground is located in a stunning Ponderosa Pine and forest meadow environment. The campground elevation is 7.9 ft above sea level. Come prepared for warm days and cool nights.  The Cerro Pelado Area closure prohibits members of the public from entering Trail 137 from access points South of the East Fork Trailhead. Entry is allowed North from the East Fork Trailhead to Las Conchas Trailhead. Please remember that this campground is special. Help keep it clean and beautiful by using the trash dumpsters. Campground has 52 camp sites with picnic table and fire ring. Paved access which allows trailers and RV's up to 40 ft.  For the 2022 Season of Use, loop 4 sites are non-generator use areas. Loops 1-3 may use generators from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. There is paved access from the highway and paved internal roads to individual campsites. There are no RV hook-ups. Drinking water is provided from spigots conveniently located throughout the campground. Vault toilets provide basic sanitation needs. A campground host is on duty.

Stayed here in transit through New Mexico during the recent heavy rains. Picked the spot because the road and campground are paved and the spots are clean even in the rain. It was perfect. Our spot was right by the bathrooms that were checked twice a day by the camp host. Couldn't have found a better spot to sit the rain out. Went to the falls the last day before we left, and the trail was lovely. Will be back for an extended stay soon.

The campground was spacious, well shaded, clean. There were lots of birds. It also had lots of BEES. The picnic table was permanently affixed to the blacktop, and we couldn't set up our screen tent over it to avoid the little pests at mealtime. Very close access to beautiful hikes and other area activities such as the falls and Valles Caldero.

If you didn't bring something with you, it is a LONG way to services. Perfect isolated area.

The campground sites are spaced nicely for privacy. The area has many places to walk and hike. Love the quiet rule for generators. My campsite did have some trash and a bone in the fire pit which my dog ate and then had diarrhea.

One of our favorite campgrounds and will be high on our list any time we are in the area. Sites are well designed (layout) and feel private. Excellent hosts. Toilets are clean and the camground itself was immaculate. We stayed for 4 nights and wished we could have made it more. There are so many places around to explore.

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
