About Jemez Falls Campground
Jemez Falls Campground is located in a stunning Ponderosa Pine and forest meadow environment. The campground elevation is 7.9 ft above sea level. Come prepared for warm days and cool nights.
The Cerro Pelado Area closure prohibits members of the public from entering Trail 137 from access points South of the East Fork Trailhead. Entry is allowed North from the East Fork Trailhead to Las Conchas Trailhead.
Please remember that this campground is special. Help keep it clean and beautiful by using the trash dumpsters. Campground has 52 camp sites with picnic table and fire ring. Paved access which allows trailers and RV's up to 40 ft.
For the 2022 Season of Use, loop 4 sites are non-generator use areas. Loops 1-3 may use generators from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
There is paved access from the highway and paved internal roads to individual campsites. There are no RV hook-ups. Drinking water is provided from spigots conveniently located throughout the campground. Vault toilets provide basic sanitation needs. A campground host is on duty.

We really enjoyed our 3-day stay at Jemez Falls, our first time there! Sites are well-spaced, most with plenty of shade. It was easy to find a site with enough room for a 34' RV and water was close by. Looking forward to going back! We were in Loop 1, Site 5.

This is one of our favorite NM campgrounds, and is very centrally located in the Jemez Mountains. Due to extended drought conditions, the surrounding areas were under Stage 1 fire restrictions, but we were still able to enjoy campfires using the site fire ring. We were surprised that the sites were not maintained by the camp host or USFS personnel between campsite occupants to reduce flammable materials around the fire ring? We actually only saw the camp host only once during our 3-day stay. The trails in and around the campground have not yet been maintained following over a year of limited activity due to COVID, so hikers should be warned to familiarize yourselves with trails and to have a compass or trail GPS. It seemed like more people than usual were getting disoriented on the normally well groomed trails! Otherwise we had a wonderful stay!

Getting There
From Alburquerque: Take Interstate 25 north for 12 mi; exit onto NM State Highway 550 northwest for approximately 20 mi then exit onto NM Highway 4. The campground is accessed off NM Highway 4, approximately 15 mi northeast of Jemez Springs.
Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
